Society and Morals Series (1917-18)

That's the R. W. Housley Society and Morals series done and dusted. I won't lie: it was a bit hard going at times but that probably says more about me than it does about Housley. In places it was brilliant. I'd especially recommend Part VII. The Morals of Capitalism from March 1918. A really excellent piece.

As this 15 month series was posted on the blog over many years in a rather hap hazard fashion, I thought it best to have a dedicated post which lines the articles up in chronological order. Click at your leisure:
  • Aug 1917: Part I. Morality.
  • Sep 1917: Part II. Economics and Social Organisation.
  • Oct 1917: Part III. The Pre-Class Stage.
  • Nov 1917: Part IV. Chattel Slavery and Civilisation
  • Dec 1917: Part V. Military States.
  • Jan 1918: Part VI. Feudalism in Europe.
