Interesting to note that one of the outdoor speaking pitches advertised in the September Standard was East Kilbride. The Socialist Standard directory did contain a contact for East Kilbride at the time. It was someone called J. Thompson.
East Kilbride was one of the Post WW2 'New Towns'. It is best known for giving the world Aztec Camera, Jesus and the Mary Chain and Ally McCoist . . . but the less said about 'Super Ally' the better. It does remind me that I need to get around to finally watching A Shot at Glory. Surely it can't be that bad?
