S.P.G.B. Lecture List For October, 1911. Frederick S. Leigh

Following on from the standalone post for A. Barker, a similar style post for Fred Leigh, another founder member of the SPGB. Again, the details below are from Keith Scholey's unpublished document 'The Founding Members of the Socialist Party of Great Britain'.

Leigh, Frederick S
Paddington branch. Leigh was an Executive Committee member 1904-6 and spoke for the Party 1904-12. He seems to have had some theatrical aspirations (as would be implied by the somewhat eccentric garb he wore to the 1905 Conference), writing a small play “Wasted Lives” about the 1905 Russian Revolution, which was performed for the Battersea branch on 9 December 1906 (Socialist Standard January 1907). He was lapsed from membership on 28th January 1914.
