R,McDowell, who was one of the main SPGB Rally May Day speakers originally joined the Lewisham Branch of the SPGB in 1936. He resigned, alongside his partner Anne Fisher, in September 1993 over what is now known as the Socialist Studies expulsions. A sad end to a lifetime of propagating socialism.
A. E. Botterill, who was speaking at the Dartford Labour Club, was the father of Richard Botterill. Richard and I were in the same London branch in the 1990s and early 2000s. A lovely guy. He is still around.
