Charles Darwin (1957)

From the September 1957 issue of the Socialist Standard
“It has often and confidently been asserted, that man’s origin can never be known; but ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.”

“Professor Huxley (T. H.) has conclusively shown that in every visible character man differs less from the higher apes than these do from the lower members of the same order of Primates.”
Charles Darwin
Introduction to The Descent of Man, John Murray, 1901.

I'm not sure if the formatting is wrong with this post from 1957.

The quotes were actually side by side.

That's 504 posts for October. A personal best. At one point in my head, I thought I might get as many as 600 posts but that was just me kidding myself on. It was never going to happen.

As I'm here, the Top 20 months - post count wise - on the blog:

Here's a thought: Do I finish September 1957, and then crack on with the current Standard or do I just leave it as we are now in a new month? Not sure.

Including 1957, I got down to 10 September Standards on the blog. It would have been nice to get down to single figures.
