Party News from the September 1965 issue of the Socialist Standard
The newly formed Socialist Party Group in Kidderminster organised a discussion meeting with the Youth Section of the local Labour Party. Our comrade Len Young of Birmingham Branch put forward the Socialist case which was followed by questions and discussion. It was a successful meeting, but it was plain to see that these young supporters of the Labour Party need a lot more educating in what socialism really means.

And what are the odds that the youth section of the local Labour Party were a mish-mash of various Trots practising entryism?
I don't think the Militant Tendency totally dominated the Labour Party youth section in 1965. (Maybe in Kidderminster. Who knows?) That was more post-1968, when the other vanguards abandoned the Labour Party to go full revolutionary throttle.
How did that work out for them?
PS - The 1965 Editorial Committee missed a trick. Should have titled the party news, 'Ministering to the Kiddies'.
I'll get my coat.
