Political Pantoum No.3: In Out, In Out Shake . . . (2026)

From the Socialism or Your Money Back blog

In Out, In Out Shake…

Britannia seemingly sinking,

There appears to be but one hope,

Desperate means – desperate thinking

By setting a course for Europe.

There appears to be but one hope

For true British leaders and led,

By setting a course for Europe?

Let’s reclaim sovereignty instead.

For true British leaders and led,

No giving foreigners’ free rein,

Let’s reclaim sovereignty instead,

Closing the borders tight again.

But there again reconsider,

Britannia seemingly sinking,

Selling to the highest bidder;

Desperate means – desperate thinking.

Blogger's Note:
What is a 'Pantoum' I hear you say . . . I hear myself say.

According to the Poetry Foundation website it's "A Malaysian verse form adapted by French poets and occasionally imitated in English. It comprises a series of quatrains, with the second and fourth lines of each quatrain repeated as the first and third lines of the next. The second and fourth lines of the final stanza repeat the first and third lines of the first stanza."

Well, everyday's a school day.
