Party News from the May 1940 issue of the Socialist Standard
Many of our readers would like to do something in a small way, in addition to our direct approach method, in order to spread Socialist ideas. Here is one suggestion.
Nowadays local and suburban papers contain outspoken letters in the correspondence columns. Where the address of the correspondent is published, either of two methods can be adopted. One is to send a copy of the Socialist Standard in a halfpenny wrapper without comment. A second method is to send the address together with a sixpenny postal order, to the Publicity Committee, who will then arrange to send a copy of the Socialist Standard for three consecutive months and subsequently a letter inviting the recipient to read our pamphlets.
Publicity Committee.
